Call for Designers for service contract

Purpose of the call for designers

The TetRRIs project, in the framework of H2020, will officially start in September 2020. EURADA, as the communication partner of TetRRIs, is in charge of providing the visual identity of the project, and this is why we need you! We are conducting this call to find the most suitable image for the project. Please, notice that you will not be part of the project but you will in charge of punctual commissions. Context

TetRRIs stands for Territorial Responsible Research and Innovation and Smart Specialization. Territories and regions have become during the last decades increasingly important sources of economic and innovation activity, but it has come to the spotlight the importance of responsibility in research and innovation. Therefore, territories now need to implement Responsible Research and Innovation when conducting their research, and TetRRIs aims to this accomplishment.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for engaging a designer for the forthcoming H2020 project TetRRIs. The professional will have to commit to the following:

1. Designing the project logotype and image,
2. Designing the webpage,
3. Designing promotional visual support such as brochures, roll-ups, and more to be discussed,
4. Attend contextual meetings with EURADA and TetRRIs’ coordinator to better get insights of the project and better reflect its idea and purpose on their art.

For this specific call, what we need from the applicant is the following:

1. To fill in the application form (Annex I), with the following information:

a. Contact details

i. Name and surname,
ii. E-mail address,
iii. Telephone number.

b. An explanation of a maximum 1 A4 page of why they think they are the best pick – how would they fit in the project. You can explain to us your experience, your motivations, your professional objectives… anything you think is relevant for us to rely on your skills!

c. Your tentative budget for the following designs:

i. The project logotype and image,
ii. The webpage,
iii. A roll-up,
iv. Presentation slides,
v. Promotional brochures.

2. Attach to this application form at least three references of your past work for projects. If you consider it pertinent, you can add a description

3. Send all the required documents before the 3rd of August to the e-mail TetRRIS@eurada.org

Successful application

The winner will provide the visual support needed for the communication and dissemination activities conducted by EURADA.

The first commission will be the design of three logotypes and images for the project TetRRIS. On the 10th of September, the project consortium will vote on them and the final image and logotype will be selected, and the promotional visual support needed will be decided.

7th of August 2020 Contact to the applicants on whether or not they were selected
Week of the 10th of August (day tbc) Internal meeting between the designer, EURADA and the project coordinator to explain the TetRRIs project in detail so that the designer can have a broader idea of it and can convey a more formed idea on their designs
Last week of August/first week of September (day tbc) Deadline to provide the 3 project logotypes and images
10th of September 2020

TetRRIs project Kick-off meeting. The designer will not have to be present, but in this meeting the final logotype and image will be decided, as well as what promotional visual support the project will need

11th Semptember 2020 The designer will be informed on the Kick-off meeting decisions

Selected application and work required

As stated before, the selected applicant will provide the visual support of the project. For this, the tasks to be conducted are:

Task 1: the design of the project logotype and image

The designer will have to provide EURADA with 3 different designs for the logotype and image of the TetRRIs project before September.

On the 10th of September, the final logotype and image will be decided in the Kick-off meeting.

Before its design, the designer will participate in a meeting with EURADA and the project coordinator to get a better insight of the project and, thus, be able to convey in their artistic style and form the idea of the project in the required logotype.

Task 2: the design of the webpage

The TetRRIs webpage will be used for disseminating the milestones of the project; promoting events and conferences related to the topic of the project; publishing its newsletter; establishing a platform to connect the project with its similar H2020 projects; and so on.

The design of promotional visual support such as brochures, roll-ups, and more to be discussed

During the lifetime of the project, several meetings and conferences about it will be held. For this purpose, TetRRIs will also require the design for advertising materials such as roll-ups, brochures, and more advising materials still not decided.

These materials will also be requested to the designer.

Please notice that all these tasks will be conducted by the selected designer. For the application itself, you can send us your past work on these topics, but not templates for the TetRRIs project logotype, webpage nor promotional visual support.

Form of the contract

There will be two parts:

  1.  The invoicing for the first part of the workload, coming after the 1st of September, which is the one for the three designs of the project logotype and image,

2. The invoicing for the rest, which will be the webpage and promotional visual support such as roll-ups, brochures and presentation slides (to be confirmed).

To submit your candidatures, you must send an e-mail before the 3rd of August to the address roser.tormos@eurada.org with the subject “Application for EURADA’s call for designers”. Please, feel free to write anything you want in the body of the e-mail and introduce yourself.

Final comments

Of course, for all materials requested, a reasonable deadline will be proposed.
