We would like to draw to your attention a call for speakers to take part in a workshop at the URBIS Smart City Fair in Brno, Czech Republic, which is due to take place on the 2nd and 3rd of September 2020. The subject of the workshop will be “p2p (peer-to-peer) energy market platforms” and the call comes from the Horizon 2020 project POCITYF, of which EURADA is a consortium member. For any of you who work with energy solutions in the context of smart cities, this is an excellent opportunity to showcase your organisation and its work in this field. The call is only open until the 20th of June, relatively soon, so do not hesitate to apply if it suits you.
POCITYF – short for “A POsitive Energy CITY Transformation Framework” – is a project which works to deliver positive energy blocks (sets of buildings which generate more energy than they consume and thus can feed energy back into the local grid) in its two lighthouse cities of Evora, Portugal and Alkmaar, the Netherlands. An additional six fellow cities follow the project implementation in those first two and learn from their experiences. Although exceptions may be made for other relevant suggestions, contributions to the POCITYF workshop at the fair are expected to be on the following topics:
- Citizen engagement
- Business models
- Distribution grid
- Energy poverty
- Municipality perspective
- ICT tools
The URBIS Smart City Fair is currently foreseen to take place in person, although this is obviously subject to change. In either case, consider showcasing your expertise and being able to come into contact with other smart city actors. We encourage anyone involved in this kind of p2p energy market platforms to have a look at the call today and apply by Saturday here.
