The project has developed a platform supporting cross-border investments in renewable energies. The platform will continue after the end of the project. It’s a good opportunity for the members of EURADA with crowdfunding platforms in their territories working in energy projects or cooperatives. These entities could join the platform to promote their projects to investors.

Citizenergy, made possible by European Union funding, is the first platform to encourage cross-border investment in sustainable energy and the first to provide information on sustainable energy opportunities from both crowdfunding platforms and cooperatives. It reinforces the work of such organisations in financing renewable and energy efficiency projects, increasing their reach while promoting transparency. A sort of “Tripadvisor” of our sustainable energy landscape, Citizenergy is a valuable resource for individuals looking to get involved in the energy transition. EURADA participates in the project providing support to the communication and engaging regional stakeholders

The project will make operative the alignment of high education institutions (HEI) in regional smart specialisation strategies. It will collect best practices to showcase with example how better do this involvement. EURADA is part of the advisory board of the project.

The Smart specialisation approach combines industrial, educational and innovation policies for countries/regions to identify and select a limited number of priority areas for knowledge-based investments, focusing on their strengths and comparative advantages.
Smart specialisation processes need to be based on a strong partnership between businesses, public entities and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), essential for success.

The role of HEIs in smart specialisation strategies (RIS3) is a current challenge that the EC aims to tackle, in order to maximise the impact that HEIs may have in the design and implementation of successful RIS3.

Thinking Smart sets out an innovative objective: support HEIs in contributing to and benefiting from Smart Specialisation strategies.
