Eurada News nº387 - April 2019

Opportunity to take part in H2020 programme

There is a specific call for proposals in H2020 for the agencies that support innovation in companies. The INNOSUP programme supports the peer learning agencies in a call specifically indicated to address common challenges. It is a very flexible call made up of coordination and support action with lump sum reporting.

We kindly recommend you to take part in this call because the call`s structure is flexible and specifically indicated for agencies that support innovation. Your entity has the possibility to prepare a proposal at any time. The programme has two cut-off dates (normally in March and October) and the next deadline will be on October 16th. Probably, there would be two more cut-off dates in 2020 (the work programme for 2020 is not published yet).

In the last years, many members of EURADA successfully took part in topics of the call for “peer learning of innovation agencies” (INNOSUP-05-2018-2020). This call is part of the H2020 European programme for Research and Innovation.
H2020 is one of the most competitive programmes in the world to support excellent research and high impact innovation. Despite the H2020 programme has a strong competition, this call on support innovation in companies has a better successful rate (over 70%) because the participants in the peer learning are only public entities that support innovation in SMEs.
In the last call there were 8 applications and we expect that 5 of them will be granted.

The conditions for the participation are flexible because the topic is a coordination and support action with a grant of 100%. You could engage as many partners as you wish (always over three partners). However, the budget is limited to 50.000 EUR per project. Taking into account this budget, we kindly suggest you to establish a partnership of only three partners with 20.000 EUR for the coordinator and 15.000 EUR for each of the partners.

You could establish yourself the duration of the project. Nevertheless, we kindly recommend you to set up a project duration over 18 months because starting to work in an international project requires lots of resources and time. You would be more relaxed and will have more time to think about the common challenges ahead if you establish at least one year and a half of project duration.

We encourage you to prepare a proposal for this call. It will help you to work closely with other colleagues from two countries to solve a common challenge. The main results of your project should be a design option paper to describe what should be done to support better the innovation of the SMEs in your territory.
For the design option paper, you should write a roughly 50 pages document which contains all the lessons learnt from other agencies. There have been many projects already granted in this call with interesting results in access to finance, support SMES from services sector, how to foster entrepreneurships in PhD students, connect local SMES with international value chains, establish cooperation groups between companies and academia for applied research contracts, etc.

EURADA organises every year, usually in January, a Brokerage Event open to any agency of Europe. During the event you could have the opportunity to discover the good practices extracted from previous projects that have been successfully supported by this call. For the agencies willing to prepare a new proposal in the framework of H2020 is also possible to present their project ideas to other stakeholder in order to find partners for the project.  For this reason, if you are interested on this call, we would be pleased to welcome you in the brokerage in January 2020. However if in the meantime you need any partner for your proposal, please do not hesitate to have a look on the contacts list of EURADA’s member in order to establish a successful  partnership.
