The Smart Regions 3.0 Conference took place in Brussels last November on two days, 14th and 15th, during the course of which diverse workshops, lectures and presentations were given by some of the most important experts, stakeholders, policy-makers and public authorities in the field. This year’s edition was oriented at the transformation of our societies and in this respect, we had the opportunity to discuss the social impact of the strategies, inclusive growth and foreseen future for the Smart Specialisation Strategies.
As a relevant organisation in the framework of Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3) application, EURADA organised a side event about experiences, best practices and knowledge sharing that have so far characterised the S3. The event aimed at helping Regional Development Agencies to review their strategies in view of the multiannual financial framework (MFF). For this purpose, we gathered the experiences of both public and private sector through the participation of organisations such as IDEA (Andalusian Regional Development Agency of Spain) and NordEst (North East Regional Development Agency of Romania), representing the RDA’s point of view; and Ecorys (economic research and consulting), META Group (R&I, financing and entrepreneurial support) and Infyde (policy consulting).
Furthermore, EURADA had the opportunity to join the exhibition hall with a stand in order to promote the organisation and different EU projects (e.g. TeRRItoria, ReConfirm, etc.) that EURADA is carrying out on the subjects of Responsible Research Innovation and regional assistance in implementing action plans for Industrial Modernisation. It has been a very inspiring conference that encouraged us to keep working and cooperating with the different actors involved in the S3 to boost the strategies onto the next level.
