GlobalScot is the Scottish Enterprise project which goal is to offer support from influential business leaders that’ll help to expand, accelerate the growth and build meaningful relationships in the global marketplace. Connecting ambitious business with experienced international business leaders, the GlobalScot network can hook the business into the specific knowledge to shape the strategy development by facilitating introductions and meetings that transforms the direction of the organisation.

The OPEX Group, has worked at the sharp end of the energy industry since its formation. OPEX is a 40-strong multi-disciplinary team including data scientists, AI engineers, software developers and engineers. They join the programme willing to internationalise the business. Starting as a small Scottish team, OPEX is now part of a global enterprise with 6000 staff and the company faces a future of untold potential.
OPEX received some key support that influenced its international strategy. Last year, it engaged with the support of our GlobalScot community. Coached by GlobalScot Derek Blackwood, OPEX presented to a panel of prominent energy industry leaders based in the United States, getting insights that helped the company to refine its thoughts around global expansion.
Scottish Enterprise works closely with their partners to support Scotland people and businesses. GlobalScot is one of their initiatives to achieve its mission and one of the successful stories they can share about ambitious businesses internationalization.
