Successful Brokerage Event for Innovation Agencies 2022

Article written by Julia Colomer Cuixeres - Project Officer at EURADA

On the 7th of April EURADA organised its 7th annual Brokerage Event for Innovation Agencies. During the morning and afternoon, we had the pleasure of listening to more than 30 speakers presenting opportunities for development agencies, successful project results, project ideas, partner searches as well as their agencies and organisations.

Due to measures still in place around the pandemic, this year the event was held online once more via the B2Match platform. We hope to be able to welcome you all in person again for the next edition.

Moderator Antonio NOVO, President of the European Cluster Alliance, introduced the 4 keynote speakers:

  • Roberta DALL'OLIO, President of EURADA, gave a brief overview of the importance of this brokerage event, since having a strong network and forging new synergies plays a vital role in boosting companies.
  • Crispin WAYMOUTH, Deputy Head of Unit for Industrial Forum, Alliances, Clusters at the European Commission’s DG GROW, stressed three key points: resilience, strategic dependencies and the acceleration of both green and digital transitions. Mr Waymouth elaborated on the EU initiatives on Clusters, such as the main objectives for 2022 and the priorities of the Enterprise Europe Network.
  • Eric KOCH, from the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), explained the Interregional Investment Instrument and its position in Innovation Ecosystems.
  • Laurentiu DAVID, from Interreg Europe Joint Secretariat, highlighted Interreg Europe’s role in improving regional development policy instruments, including Investment for Jobs and Growth programmes.

After this interesting section, 10 speakers representing different organisations took the floor to share their experiences. Moderated by Agatha FILIMON from ADR Nord-Est, the audience heard some very inspiring examples of successful projects.

Under the guidance of Valeria TONCHEVA, from the Municipality of Plovdiv, 7 speakers showed us their ideas for future European projects, what these are about, and explained which partners they are looking for.

Finally, the last section aimed at identifying potential partners for your projects, moderated by Kostas KARAMARKOS, from the Regional Development Fund of Attica. In this session,  8 speakers presented their agencies, their areas, initiatives and what they could offer.

Esteban PELAYO, Director at EURADA, wrapped up the event by underlining the importance of the regional ecosystem and the cooperation among them, especially post-pandemic and in light of the war on Ukraine. Mr Pelayo closed off the 2022 Brokerage by inviting everyone to EURADA’s 30th anniversary on the 7th and 8th of June 2022. To register, follow this link

The use of the B2Match platform enabled us to organise bilateral meetings among all those registered for the event. This matchmaking part took place from the 7th of April, right after the presentations, up until the 21st of April. During those days we welcomed 188 participants for more than 60 meetings.

All the information about the event can be found here. The video will be published soon on our YouTube channel.
