EURADA Summer School

Article writen by Giacomo Frisanco - Communication, Policy and Membership Manager

In a constantly changing socio-economic world, it is crucial to stay regularly updated with the latest trends and innovations, to be aware of the opportunities for regional development.

In order to reply to this clear need, stressed by our members' network and regional ecosystem, EURADA Summer School is back.

For the first time in the EURADA history, the Summer School 2024 will not take place in Brussels at our premises, in July as a consolidated tradition. To guarantee the exchange of best practices and provide training opportunities, the EURADA secretariat has decided to organise this edition in Malta, in cooperation with our two Maltese members Malta Enterprise and Gozo Regional Development Authority.

During these two thrilling days, we will dive deep into the dynamic world of SMEs and startups driving regional development across Europe. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the EU's green transition and development of a sustainable blue economy, as well as discover the impact of EU Funds on island economies. Discovering the impact of SMEs and Startups in developing resilience for peripheral and remote regions is one of the pillars of this year’s agenda, also including how to effectively communicate and engage with the different EU Stakeholders.

Cultural heritage preservation has been spotlighted as another main topic to be discussed, given the topicality of Malta. The 14th meeting of the EURADA Smart Heritage Working Group will also take place in the framework of the Summer course, revolving around Heritage Preservation on the island, including Biodiversity and historical heritage.

Engagement with the experts through immersive presentations and interactive workshops will be guaranteed during the full programme. There will also be two captivating site visits to the most prominent leading companies operating on the Maltese islands: SuperCharger Ventures - a Malta Accelerator, and the Gozo Experimental Farm.

The Summer School promises to be a great networking opportunity to meet new people, broaden horizons and open the doors to further collaboration.

There is a participation fee for taking part in this training experience. While the organisers will cover transport, snacks, lunches, and dinner during the three days, travel costs and accommodation costs in Malta will be borne by the participants as well as other meals not specified in the agenda.

The participation fee for EURADA members is €300 while for non-EURADA members is €400. Interested people should register by submitting a duly compiled application via this form online. Registration will remain open until 21 April 2024.

It is important to know that on Thursday 9 and Friday 10 May 2024, the EU-Startup’s Summit 2024 will be held in Valletta. We are pleased to provide EURADA members with discounted tickets for the international conference.
