SmartTechNXT, an example of the internationalisation and soft-landing programme of Oost NL and World Trade Center Twente

Our member Oost NL together with the World Trade Center Twente have been carrying out an internationalisation and soft-landing programme to provide support to foreign investment. Nowadays SmartTechNXT, a participant in the programme is providing smart automation and digitisation to accelerate the integration of human and digital workforces to automate business processes with smart technology to Dutch SMEs.

SmartTechNXT was one of the twelve companies started by entrepreneurs from South Africa participating in the internationalisation and soft-landing programme from Oost NL. This programme aims to help catalyse foreign investment, trade, innovation and growth in The Netherlands.

The company was founded by Kurt and Laureen van Aswegen.  and with the support of Oost NL and the World Trade Center they launched a smart automation technology service to help Dutch SMEs take steps towards a smarter industry.

This programme is a valuable tool to consider when looking to settle in to start a business and the rates show that the programme is doing its job well. More economic ties are growing between the Netherlands and South Africa and imports and exports rose to EUR 2.2 billion in 2021.
