EURADA's main annual events

Article written by the EURADA Secretariat

With three major events to highlight, June is set to be an important month in the EURADA calendar.

On 3 June 2024, the EURADA members will decide the future of the association duringthe EURADA General Assembly. The meeting will take place on the afternoon of 3 June 2024 from 15:00 to 18:00 CEST in Atelier 29, in Brussels. While this is always a pivotal event in EURADA’s calendar, this year's assembly holds particular importance as it coincides with the EURADA elections, where members will shape the future of EURADA by voting for the new Board of Directors. Consequently, the new Board will elect the President and the Vice-Presidentfor the next 3 years. Alongside this, the EURADA members will gather to discuss a wide array of topics, including budget approvals for 2023 and the provisional budget for 2024, updates on ongoing projects, achievements, and future initiatives, as well as insights into this year’s work programme. The General Assembly will serve also to welcome the new members to the EURADA network.

The next day, on 4 June we will hold EURADA’s main annual event, AGORADA, from 8:30 to 18:00 CEST set to take place in Residence Palace in Brussels. This annual conference serves as a unique platform for members to analyse policy trends, exchange information on funding opportunities, and enhance the performance of RDAs through shared tools and best practices.

EURADA members inspire each other and exchange ideas by sharing their best practices and successful policies in their respective regions. AGORADA 2024 will continue EURADA's ongoing efforts to better understand the landscape of European regional development agencies by presenting the first preliminary results of the survey conducted jointly with the OECD and launched at the end of 2023. In addition, the specific role and activities of national associations of development agencies in different national contexts will be discussed. This year's edition will also focus on impact investment and ensuring equal opportunities, both of which are pivotal topics to the work of regional development agencies.

Furthermore, a representative of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre will present the latest updates of the Partnerships for Regional Innovation (PRI) initiative.

During this event, we will also unveil the winners of the EURADA Awards, where three regional development agencies will be awarded for their outstanding practices.

Finally, on 5 June, the 9th edition of our Brokerage Event will take place from 8:30 to 13:00 CEST at Residence Palace in Brussels. This event is designed to offer invaluable insights into European funding opportunities, including programmes like Digital Europe and the LIFE programme. The Brokerage Event is a must-attend for anyone involved in regional development and innovation. Joining forces with experts in the field, attendees will have the chance to share best practices, forge new partnerships, and explore project proposals that have the potential to drive meaningful change across Europe.

Additionally, the event will feature pitching sessions where participants can showcase successful projects or pitch ideas for upcoming calls, fostering collaboration and innovation within the community.
