Interregional Innovation Investments (I3) Support Facility
The I3 Support Facility provides support to regional and national innovation stakeholders and public authorities, fostering strong interregional innovation ecosystems and reinforcing the objectives of the Interregional Innovation Investments (I3) Instrument. With a special focus on less-developed regions, EU outermost regions, and regions facing specific challenges, the I3 Support Facility aims to connect regional ecosystems within shared Smart Specialisation areas, promote interregional innovation ecosystems, enhance interregional innovation capacity, and foster engagement in European value chains and joint investment projects. A key feature of the I3 Support Facility is the Policy Lab, which hosts discussion groups focusing on nine critical topics, including interregional collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and funding instruments.
Role of EURADA:
EURADA plays a key role in engaging stakeholders and strengthening cooperation within the framework of the I3 Instrument. Through a combination of physical and virtual activities, EURADA fosters networking, knowledge exchange, and capacity building across its extensive European network.
As part of its activities, EURADA organises the Annual Capacity Building Forum and a series of 12 virtual events designed to provide practical insights, share experiences, and promote collaboration among stakeholders. In parallel, EURADA actively facilitates networking among I3 stakeholders by identifying target audiences and analysing their needs across different value chains. This structured approach supports effective stakeholder engagement and onboarding through workshops, I3 information sessions, meetings in Brussels, and study visits.
