This closing session, titled "Heritage and Climate Resilience: Strategies for Adaptation", will explore how cities can reduce climate risks through well‑chosen measures that respect conservation rules, support comfort and livability, and remain maintainable over time. The discussion will range from flood and water management in historic centres to urban cooling and heat mitigation in heritage streetscapes, along with the enabling governance and permitting approaches that make such actions possible.
We are honoured to welcome two distinguished speakers who will share innovative perspectives from their regions:
- Roxana Șlemco – Director, North-East Regional Studies Centre, ADR Nord Est
With over 20 years of experience in regional development, European project management, tourism, and innovation, Roxana has coordinated or contributed to 46 European projects, attracting €2.5 million in resources for her region. She leads extensive work on cultural heritage, sustainability, and circular economy in tourism, including the refurbishment of heritage buildings based on reuse and recycling principles.
- Silvia Rossi – Manager, Clust-ER Build, Emilia-Romagna Region
Silvia manages a vibrant network of public and private actors in the construction sector, driving innovation and sustainability in line with Emilia-Romagna’s Smart Specialisation Strategy. A recognised expert in business development and sustainable building, she is also an active voice for gender equality and environmental stewardship in architecture and construction.
This will be the last Working Group meeting under the POCITYF project — we encourage everyone to take part, contribute to the discussion, and celebrate our collective achievements in advancing sustainable solutions for heritage cities.
