His founder Coolen worked for many years a professor of Applied Mathematics at King’s College London, where he founded Saddle Point Science Ltd. In 2020, he decided to move back to the Netherlands with his company, what suppose an important and excellent impact for the competitiveness of the healthcare system of the region.
“Nijmegen has a very attractive ecosystem for health technology companies because of the open innovation culture, where knowledge, networks, and ideas are shared with both academics and fellow health technology companies. Oost NL has been instrumental in smoothening our transition from the UK to the Netherlands, by helping us understand and navigate the local landscape and link up with relevant public and private sector partners. Especially since our arrival in Nijmegen coincided with the start of the covid pandemic, this made a big difference,” Coolen Says.
Good news for the health tech ecosystem in the region with the expertise and knowledge of Ton Coolen and his team which brings relevant benefits for drug developing companies. From EURADA, we want to report this new success of our member, Oost NL, as an example of the role of regional development agencies in their regions to speed the growth and consolidation of companies and sectors.
