DIH-World is looking for innovative experiments across Europe involving DIHs and SMEs. Apply for the second DIH-World open call

Article written by Julia Colomer Cuixeres - Project Officer at EURADA

The DIH-World project consortium has launched its second open call to select and support up to 20 SME-driven digital experiments. The deadline is on the 28th of June 2022 at 13h00 (CEST). The DIH-World project aims to accelerate the uptake of advanced digital technologies by European manufacturing SMEs in all sectors by supporting them in building sustainable competitive advantages and reaching global markets. DIH-World strengthens the capacities of regional DIHs, particularly in underrepresented regions across Europe.

As intermediaries of successful local SME digital transformation, DIH-World aims to provide DIHs with access to harmonised tools, well-proven technologies, effective methodologies, sound knowledge, smart investment sources, rich training assets, and overall a vibrant innovation environment.

The final aim is to accelerate the matureness of DIHs and the development of their collaboration capabilities, and avoid a DIH divide due to a lack of access to technologies, skills, networks, investment, and infrastructures, with special emphasis in underrepresented regions. This will allow for them to capitalise and leverage the European DIHs Networks for their resources and facilities for the benefit of their local SMEs.

Through the first open call, 28 experiments were selected. Read more about the experiments being carried out here

The second DIH-World call is ongoing, and the goal is to select and support up to 20 SME-driven experiments. The DIH-World open call is designed to support digitalisation experiments involving DIHs and SMEs from the manufacturing sector. Innovative experiments will receive up to EUR 95,000.00 to support the integration of digital technologies in the processes, products, or services of an SME. These experiments should address any manufacturing sector, with a special focus on textile, logistics, mobility, rubber & plastic products, and electrical & optical equipment. It would be highly recommended to create cross-border collaborations for the consortiums.

The selected innovative technology experiments will be joining the DIH-World community, boosting the interaction and cross-border cooperation among DIHs and SMEs, and also, among DIHs from the European Network.

Five EURADA members are part of the DIH-World network, two of them from the beginning and three became a part of the DIH-World network through the first open call:

  • INFO (Instituto de Fomento de la Región De Murcia - Spain) Murcia with Agora DIH is carrying out the ”SMART ECO-COMFORT“ experiment.

  • AIF (Instituto Aragones De Fomento - Spain) with Aragón DIH is carrying out the “DASHEP: Data Analysis and Sensorization in Hostile Environment for Predictive maintenance” experiment.

This is a very good opportunity to support and boost digitalisation in your regional SMEs. For this reason, it is important to start looking for ideas and partners as soon as possible. If you want more information, do not hesitate to contact our colleague, Julia COLOMER
