With the support of the European Union, 30 solar systems were allocated to rural households in Katun settlements

SERDA, Sarajevo Regional Development Agency, is one of the partners of the project "Katun Roads of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina", which is financed by the European Union. We want to report a big step for the region competitiveness thanks to the agreement on the use of solar systems.

The European Union financed the allocation of 30 solar systems to households from Katun settlements through the project "Katun Roads of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina". This support aims to improve the quality of tourist services in Katun settlements, and strengthen the capacity of the local rural population. The project plans to establish a new tourist trail that will connect Katun settlements in the vicinity of the municipalities of Fojnica, Kiseljak, Kreševo, Visoko and Konjic. At the mentioned locations, tourist signalization, rest areas and lookouts will be set up, as well as the arrangement of the camp site, and training of the local population in katuns will be done for the provision of tourist services and safety in food production.

The activity of allocating solar systems is realized within the project "Katun Roads of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina", which is financed by the European Union through the cross-border cooperation program between BiH and Montenegro. The total value of the project is 470,000 euros, of which the European Union has provided 400,000 euros in grants. The Leading partner is the National Tourist Organization of Montenegro, and other parties as our member, the Sarajevo Regional Development Agency SERDA.

With this fruitful and competitive agreement, we show an example of successful cooperation with the European authorities, as well as the importance of participating in European projects which, among other benefits and advantages, can provide financial support for the regions. RDAs, such as SERDA, have an important role to facilitate the cooperation to plan common projects for regional development.
