REGIOSTAR Awards 2021

Created by EURADA |

Application Deadline: 9 May

The European Commission has announced that the REGIOSTARS Awards, the annual competition convened by the Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy, will be opened for applicants until 9 May. Consider these awards a symbol of excellence, they are a unique opportunity to display and promote your innovative approaches to and activities within regional development.

REGIOSTARS is a source of inspiration for regions across Europe. The objective of this competition is to identify good practices in regional development and recognise those EU projects that can be attractive for project managers and other regions.  The five thematic categories in which the different projects will compete in 2021 are: Smart Europe, Green Europe, Fair Europe, Urban Europe, and the topic of the year - which is boosting regional green mobility - “European Year of Rail 2021”. These five areas are considered a priority in the EU's Regional Policy. To know more about them, click here Guide for applicants

In each of these areas, a panel of high-level academics will evaluate the participating projects and announce the winners. Likewise, through a public online vote, the public will participate and decide which is its own preferred winning project, which will be awarded the Public choice award. In October 2021, within the framework of the European Week of Regions and Cities, the finalists will receive training sessions on communication. In December 2021, the winners will get their award at the festive REGIOSTARS ceremony in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

From EURADA´s side, we highly encourage you to participate and present your project to the REGIOSTARS Awards. We are at your complete disposal to carry out a proofreading of your proposals and to support you with anything you may need.
